    • Intro
In just one week, learn everything you need in order to successfully carry out your own tours in the Mediterranean and the Baltic. And have plenty of fun at the same time! This is one of the most beautiful parts of France, where the many highlights are so crammed in next to each other that car shuttles are pretty much never needed. Things could hardly be more relaxed!

This course is the perfect follow-up to our three-day intensive course "from Zero to Hero 1" over Ascension Day (bank holiday CH, D and ?).

The peninsula of Giens ("Cap d'Hyères") is one of our favourite places and very easy to reach from Switzerland – just a moderate day's drive. There are top play spots on the water everywhere in the immediate vicinity of the campsite: washed-over rocks, narrow passages, fantastically beautiful bays, islands large and small, a rugged cape in the east of the peninsula and of course the famous island of Porquerolles, which we will reach in our kayaks – wind and waves permitting. So you can expect super nice day trips, plenty of opportunities to practise your paddling technique and get wet, and your first sea crossing!
    • Arrival
      Saturday (Arrival)
      Individual arrival.
We’ll meet around afternoon/early evening at the La Tour Fondue campsite, right by the sea. There is a pizzeria – a perfect and relaxed start to a week's holiday.

Please note that you have to reserve your space on the campsite yourself.
    • Day 1–6
      Day 1 to 6
Following an introductory day where we'll do some training near the campsite, each evening, we will the put together the detailed programme for the rest of the week on site. We’ll do this based on wind and weather conditions, but also on the ideas of our course participants, because planning the day's trips together, and doing so ashore is an essential part of this course. If you want to be safe at sea, you have to master these basics, as well as all the techniques we will learn while paddling during this week. Other exciting topics in our programme: touring paddling technique, navigating and playing between rocks ("rockhopping"), surfing, safety and rescues, an exciting night trip and much more!
    • Travel back
      Saturday (departure)
Time to go back home... but we're sure we'll be seeing you again soon!
    • More info
Group size: Min. three participants, max. six.

The price includes boats, paddles, life jackets, spray decks and, if required, neoprene long johns, shoes, paddling jackets and helmets. Also, make sure you bring your own functional underwear and swimming costume.

The kitty: As always, on Cap d'Hyères we will also set up a kitty for meals. In fact, there will actually be two: one for food (€100 contribution per person) and one for alcohol (depending on how much you consume, or your best guess at it). Nobody is obliged to pay into the kitty, nor to eat together with us. But cooking and eating together after a strenuous day's paddling is just good fun, and not only does it help to strengthen our tired muscles; it also helps us to create a sense of community. Find more on this topic here.

Weather: As you might expect, we can't make any guarantees in terms of weather or sea state. In order to ensure everyone's safety, our guide will decide how to carry out the planned programme locally on a daily basis, and whether to do so. As experienced sea kayakers, we know that Neptune always has the last word.

Accident insurance is the responsibility of the participants. We also strongly recommend that you obtain travel cancellation insurance. Please read our GTC on the topic of cancellation fees, cancellation deadlines etc.
